Traces of Hope – 2020

«Traces of Hope» – dares to take a curious look into the future as a film essay by following subtle «traces of hope» that are meant for their anticipation and implementation in the present and not for a distant goal.

The film explores the question of where hopeful alternatives are already flashing up. How do they help to break out of the world’s miserable state? What role do subversion and resistance play in this? In conversations with protagonists, observations and cinematic tableaus «Traces of Hope» juxtaposes the state of the world with subversive counter-strategies.

How can we break free of the supposed prison of overstrain and helplessness? The film explores the unique ability of humans to think beyond the troubled present. How can we develop ideas and visions for future-oriented action? The theme of «hope» and the associated call for creative action will be a quiet melody but still clearly perceptible throughout the film.
